MI-KY officials make friendly NCAA wager

LANSING – Attorney General Bill Schuette today announced that a “Pure Michigan” food basket and a Meacham Country Ham are on the line in a friendly championship wager between Michigan Attorney General Bill Schuette and Kentucky Attorney General Jack Conway.  The two confirmed the challenge today, just hours before the University of Michigan faces the University of Louisville in the final game of the NCAA Tournament.

“I’m more than happy to make this bet with General Conway, because I’m confident he’ll be saying ‘Hail to the Victors’ when all is said and done,” said Schuette.

“Attorney General Schuette and I are both looking forward to an exciting game tonight,” said Conway. “Personally, I think some gourmet items from Michigan would go nicely with a UofL victory.”

If Louisville wins, Schuette will send Conway a Pure Michigan food basket featuring an assortment of Made-in-Michigan products.  If Michigan wins, Conway will send Schuette a Meacham Country Ham from Union County, the home county of Conway’s father.
