Good news for anyone getting ready to drive a long distance for Memorial Day weekend — gas prices are going down.
They’ve dropped 7 cents per gallon across the state over the past week.
Dearborn-based AAA Michigan says the average price for a gallon of self-serve regular fuel is $2.78.
That’s down from $2.92 last week.
But the current price is up 42 cents a gallon from a year ago.
The lowest price in in Flint at $2.76.
As it often does, Marquette has the highest price among the areas AAA surveys at $2.94.
AAA Mchigan surveys 2,800 gas stations every day to get its results.
