If you’re heading out on the road this week, you can expect a nice surprise at the gas pump.
AAA Michigan says the current statewide average for regular gas is down to $3.13 a gallon.
That’s a 7-cent drop from last week, but it’s still 61 cents more than it cost this time last year.
The lowest gas prices in the state are in the Saginaw–Bay City-Midland area, where a gallon of regular self-serve will average $3.03.
As usual, the Marquette area has the highest prices among the areas AAA surveys at $3.24.
Dearborn-based AAA Michigan surveys 2,800 gas stations in the state every day.
