Big Bay — Detectives from the Upper Peninsula Enforcement Team were busy in Big Bay Thursday night after they discovered an active meth lab.

Troopers from the Michigan State Police Negaunee Post were dispatched to a store near the Perkins Park Campground for an assault complaint. An investigation led troopers the campground in search of the suspect.

The suspect was located at a campsite that housed components related to the manufacturing of meth. A search of the vehicle and pop-up camper was done by UPSET detectives.

A “one pot” meth lab and components to manufacture meth were seized.

One suspect was arrested for an outstanding warrant. Two other suspects have pending charges related to the manufacturing of meth.

No names have been released at this time.
