Meth lab found in vehicle after traffic stop

Four Alger County residents are in jail after a meth lab was found in a vehicle in Munising.

It is the third meth lab the Upper Peninsula Substance Enforcement Team has responded to in the past three days.

U.P.S.E.T. Detectives were contacted by Troopers from the Munising Detachment of the Michigan State Police to assist with a suspected meth lab.  Troopers had conducted a traffic stop and found am active “one pot” meth lab in the vehicle.

Detectives seized components to manufacture meth, including an HCL gas generator, and the meth lab, and transported them to a holding facility.

The four suspects are lodged in the Alger County Jail on charges of attempting to manufacture meth.

This is the second meth lab found in Munising in the past three days; a meth lab was found at a home in Munising on Sunday night, involving downstate residents.

U.P.S.E.T. responded to a meth lab found in Marquette Monday.  Two suspects were arrested and are facing charges in connection to the lab.
