Meth lab, drugs found in Laurium home

Another meth lab has been discovered in Upper Michigan, this time in Houghton County.

Troopers from the Calumet Post of the Michigan State Police and Detectives from the Upper Peninsula Substance Enforcement Team seized drugs and found meth labs at a residence in Laurium.

The bust came Wednesday after an investigation involving the manufacture and sale of illegal and controlled substances at a residence in Laurium.  Officers seized a loaded firearm, cash, and what they called, “a substantial amount” of drugs, meth labs and components.

A 24–year–old Flint man was arrested on other charges.

The incident remains under investigation and police are seeking additional charges for the occupants of the house.

The Laurium Village Police Department, Calumet Village Police Department, members of the Michigan State Police Meth Response Team, and the Larurium Village Fire Department assisted at the scene.
