Meth bust in Chippewa County

Police in the eastern U.P. have been busy with more meth lab busts. The Straights Area Narcotics Enforcement Team, or S.A.N.E., arrested a 20–year–old man and 21–year–old woman from Sault Ste. Marie at a residence in that city this morning.

An array of evidence was found, including meth components, equipment to manufacture meth, hazardous waste from the manufacture of meth, digital scales, marijuana and prescription drugs.

The two suspects were arrested for manufacturing of methamphetamine and lodged in the Chippewa County Jail. The investigation is continuing and further arrests are pending.

The Chippewa County Sheriff’s Department, Sault Ste. Marie Police Department, and the Michigan State Police Methamphetamine Response Team assisted S.A.N.E.
