Menominee Bogus Bomb Threat

A false bomb threat over the weekend has led to the arrest of a man in Menominee.
A 57-year-old man was arrested for filing a false bomb threat and possession of a controlled substance.
The Menominee City Police got a call just before 4 pm Central time Saturday that there may have been a bomb on board a boat at the lighthouse boat launch.
Officers were warned upon arrival that the man had made comments about possible explosives on his vessel.
Authorities evacuated the area and shut down Harbor Drive and the Menekaunee Bridge.
A bomb-sniffing dog was brought in from Wisconsin.
Officers say no bomb or explosives were on the boat.
The Michigan State Police, the Menominee County Sheriff’s Department, the Wisconsin DNR, the U.S. Coast Guard, the U.S. Navy and numerous other agencies helped out at the scene.
