MDOT assisting with holiday travel

ISHPEMING — With the Holiday weekend upon us and more than one million motorists hitting the road, MDOT will be adjusting their work to make the drive a little easier.

From 3 p.m. on July 1st to 6 a.m. on the fifth, M–DOT will be suspending work and lifting traffic restrictions in designated areas. Triple–A Michigan estimates that travelers this holiday weekend will be the highest in volume in the past thirteen years, with one–point–four million Michigan residents traveling by vehicle.
