McClellan Avenue Extension Project Continues

The city of Marquette reports that the much-anticipated McClellan Avenue Extension Project is well underway.

Trees have been cleared between Wright Street and Fair Avenue, according to the City of Marquette’s Director of Planning and Community Development Dennis Stachewicz. “Earth excavation, the establishment of an embankment and the sanitary sewer construction have also started,” he said.

Oberstar is the prime contractor for this project, and the entire schedule includes:

Through April 18: Earth Excavation

Through April 23: Embankment Establishment

April 12-24: Sanitary Sewer Construction

April 23-May 1: Stream Channel Construction

April 24-May 1: Installation of Culvert Footings

April 25-May 16: Water Main Construction

May 2-8: Culvert Construction

May 9 (One Day Only): Stream Channel Diversion

May 17-30: Sanitary and Water Services Installation

May 31-June 18: Storm Sewer Construction

June 19-July 3: Road Sub-base Installation

July 25-August 21: Traffic Lighting

August 8-September 11: Concrete Curb, Sidewalk and Ramp Installation

September 12-19: Bituminous Paving

September 25: Road Striping
