Mayer wins a fourth Golden Gloves title

Mikaela Mayer continued her dominance in the ring once again this weekend.

Mayer traveled to Florida last week for the Women’s National Golden Gloves Boxing Tournament. She was able to win four straight fights, which earned Mikaela her fourth straight Golden Gloves championship. She defeated Melissa Parker in the finals of the 132 lb. weight class on Saturday.

Mayer had to defeat three southpaws in the earlier rounds to get to the finals. She still has her sights set on the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio. Mayer will be able to qualify for the games in January of 2016 at the U.S. Olympic Boxing Trials.
