Marquette stabbing suspect waives prelim, awaits arraignment

The suspect arrested after a stabbing in Marquette on New Year’s Day will be arraigned in Marquette County Circuit Court next Friday.

Casey Kallio, 26, has waived his right to a District Court preliminary exam.

He’s charged with assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder, and malicious destruction of personal property between $200 and $1,000.

Kallio is accused of stabbing Christopher Koory in the alley of the 400 block of West Washington Street after Koory confronted him about slashing a tire.
