Marquette Senior HS water main break forces early dismissal

Students at Marquette Senior High School got out of school early today after a water main break forced officials to temporarily shut down the building.

School officials say it happened at about 6:30 this morning when a water main shut-off froze. The blockage caused some of the pipes to leak.

Officials didn’t want the water levels to get too high and possibly flow into some of the transformers in the area. Students were dismissed at 9:30 as a safety precaution.

The problem has been fixed, and classes will resume at their regularly scheduled times tomorrow.
