Marquette Mayor Running for State Legislature

Marquette Mayor John Libels is looking for a new job. The kick off party for Kivela campaign for 109th State Representative was held tonight in Marquette.

Kivela has big plans and ideas to take to Lansing if he is elected. He says one of his greatest skills is communicating with others and being able to work through problems. Both are qualities he hopes with help him during the race for State Representative.

Kivela served on the Board of Zoning Appeals” for six years, while serving as chairman for the past four. Currently, he is fulfilling his sixth and final year with the City Commission. For the past four years he has served as the Marquette County Mayor.

The next step for Kivela includes several fundraising events, campaigning, and of course a lot door knocking and hand shaking.
