Marquette man arrested for sexual relationship with 14-year-old girl

A 24-year-old Marquette man has been arrested on numerous felony charges following an investigation into an online relationship with a 14-year-old girl.

Marquette City Police apprehended Aaron Max Wesolek last Friday at his apartment, where the alleged incident took place. Police say Wesolek had the victim transported to his Marquette home on April 21st after initially meeting her online some time before that.

Following an investigation, a report was prepared and submitted to the Marquette County Prosecutor’s Office, who has since charged Wesolek with one felony count of “human trafficking – recruiting a minor for child sexually abusive activity,” one felony count of “criminal sexual conduct in the third degree,” one felony count of “using computers to commit a crime,” and one felony count of “accosting children for immoral purposes.” If convicted on all charges, Wasolek could face up to a minimum of 20 years in jail.

Wesolek was arraigned today and is currently lodged in the Marquette County Jail on a $11,500 cash bond. He is due back in court on May 16th for a preliminary exam.
