Marquette looks at parking issues

Finding a parking space in almost any downtown shopping area can sometimes be an exercise in frustration:  for shoppers and for the business community.  But, the city of Marquette is looking to improve its current parking issues.

The Marquette Downtown Development Authority held a work session with the Marquette City Commission today.  On the agenda was a discussion of the recent downtown district parking study and parking management plan.

The DDA also wants to include a plan that encourages investment, balances the needs of businesses and residents, and makes the most of existing parking spaces in the city.
