Marquette leaders meet UPHS CEO

MARQUETTE — Leaders around Marquette County gathered at the Landmark this morning for a meet and greet with U.P. Health System – Marquette’s new CEO, Brian Sinotte.

In his presentation, Sinotte started large, discussing the enactment of health care legislation and the adverse effect it’s had on hospitals nationwide.

He correlated that back to U.P. Health System – Marquette, addressing concerns citizens have vocalized over the past few years. Sinotte has devised a plan that will pull the hospital from the struggling phase to the high performing stage.

“He has a pretty impressive resume at his previous hospital where they really improved their physician relationship marks, their employee marks and their quality marks,” said U.P. Health Plan CEO and President Dennis Smith. “It was a small community hospital in Henderson, North Carolina. He did a great job there so we’re looking for great things here from Brian.”

Sinotte says he is excited to start helping push the hospital into a nationally recognized position.

“There’s a number of doctor’s I’ve met with in the first few weeks that are very passionate about the organization and the community and we’re very blessed to have a great group of physicals and nurses that really want to be nationally known as an organization where people go for healthcare,” said U.P. Health System – Marquette CEO Brian Sinotte.

The morning wrapped up with the Sinotte receiving his very own Stormy Kromer. The Minnesota native is now officially ready to embark on his newest journey.
