MARQUETTE — The Downtown Marquette Farmers Market is set to kick off tomorrow morning for the Grand Opening of its 16th season. Starting tomorrow the Farmers Market will be held every Saturday regardless of weather, until December 19th, from nine a.m. to one p.m.

The renovations that took place during last season are fully completed so all vendors will be placed right away including four that are brand new to vending in Marquette. The Farmers Market has thrived over the years from featuring local artwork, baked goods, flowers, live plants, and fresh produce.

Market Manager Myra Zyburt said, “the Farmers Market provides a venue for shopping for items that you can’t find altogether anywhere else in town so it makes it very convenient. We’re right along the bike path, there’s parking all around and it’s downtown. What could be better?”

Those who attend the market can expect a wide variety of unique products that are produced regionally. The market accepts cash, and allows for credit and debit cards to purchase market money that all of the vendors will accept. A number of food assistance benefits are available as well.
