Marquette Co. man falls into well
An elderly man is recovering after falling into a well in Marquette County this afternoon.
The accident happened just before 2 p.m. at a camp in Sands Township, about three miles west of Station Road.
The Marquette County Sheriff’s Department says an 84-year-old Marquette man fell eight feet through an open access door to the bottom of the well.
The man’s son called 911 and met first responders on Station Road.
The victim was taken to Marquette General with unknown injuries.
There’s no official word on how he’s doing.
Reports at the time of the incident were that he suffered a broken neck.
The Marquette County Sheriff’s Department Special Operations Unit, Rescue Unit 131, Sands Township Fire/EMS and MediRide EMS all responded to the scene.
