Marquette Co. fire under investigation
An investigation is underway in Marquette County’s Chocolay Township after an overnight fire.
The fire, reported at approximately 1:15 a.m. Tuesday, destroyed an attached garage and damaged the home at 416 Cherry Creek Road.
Firefighters from the Chocolay Township Fire & Rescue Department were assisted by the Marquette Township Fire Department, Sands Township Fire and EMS, Marquette County Rescue 131, and Chocolay Township Police.
Adam Holloway, Public Relations Officer for Chocolay Township Fire Department, says there was extensive damage to the garage, but only minimal damage to the main residence.
No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
