Mariner in fair condition after boat crash

A mariner from Rock, Michigan is in fair condition at Schoolcraft Memorial Hospital after injuring himself in a boating accident off of Big Bay De Noc.

Gregory Frazier of Rock, Michigan was operating an 18-foot fishing boat when a 33-foot pleasure vessel crashed into the side of his hull. The vessel was being operated by Richard Ranguette of Garden, Michigan at the time of the accident. Two of Ranguette’s passengers boarded Frazier’s boat and administered first aid until an EMT from Tri Star EMS arrived on the scene. Frazier was then transported to Schoolcraft Memorial Hospital by Rampart EMS where he is listed in fair condition.

Delta County Sheriff Marine Patrol responded to the accident around 6:35 p.m. Ranguette’s vessel sustained minor damage while Frazier’s boat took the brunt of the blow. Neither Ranguette nor his four passengers suffered any injuries.
