Marijuana bust in Houghton County

The Michigan State Police are investigating a marijuana growing operation that they’ve found in Houghton County.

State Police from the Calumet Post say they made the marijuana bust shortly before 5:00 p.m. yesterday in Osceola Township. There’s no word on where in the township it was.

Police went to a home in the township to respond to a snowplowing complaint. While there, they say they smelled an overwhelming marijuana odor coming from a neighboring home. The owner of the neighboring home gave troopers permission to search the property. Police say they found more than 20 marijuana plants and more than 2,000 grams of usable marijuana in the house.

No arrests have been made at this point.
