MAPS Re-aligns Schools

The lack of space and budget cuts have caused the Marquette Area Public School District to do some shuffling for the upcoming 2012–2013 school year.

re-aligned

Due to a larger number of kindergarteners enrolling, the Marquette district will re–align the school buildings.

And, that means finding room for students in a way that least affects the rest of the district.

Starting next school year the 4th graders from Superior Hills Elementary School will attend Bothwell Middle School.

Cherry Creek Elementary School will once again house 5th graders.

The district has also been forced to think about what to do with students beyond the next school year.

But as of now, the issue is not an agenda item for the school board.

The district was forced to consider this option the bond proposal failed to go through last November.
