MAPS Career-Themed Education

Where would you be in the job force if you had a mentor to guide you in choosing a career path?

The transition from school to work was the topic of discussion tonight in Marquette.

The Marquette Area Public Schools invited several dozen local community leaders to provide input to the school district on career-themed education.

The goal — to make high school more relevant and relational to the path each student chooses.

An educational consultant from Los Angeles is working with the district.

The consultant is conducting professional development for the staff to help develop real–world learning experiences for students.

Part of the program involves community involvement.

We will have more on this event and this changing approach to education tomorrow night on ABC 10 News Now.
