Manistique Assault Suspect Pleads Not Guilty

A Manistique man accused of a beating incident pleads not guilty.

56-year-old Terry Gould is charged with assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder, as well as misdemeanor aggravated domestic violence.

He had his arraignment this morning.

The beating Gould is accused of is said to have happened on January 11th.

A 36-year-old woman called Public Safety from the East Elk Street area.

She told police Gould punched her a couple of times and also stomped on her head.

She went to Schoolcraft Memorial Hospital for treatment and was later transferred to Marquette General.

Gould has a pre-trial conference scheduled for February 18th.

He’s in jail on $100,000 bond.
