Man who accidentally shot son will spend up to 10 years in prison

MARQUETTE — A Richmond Township man who shot his son accidentally will spend up to ten years behind bars.

Richard Lehto, 52, was sentenced to a minimum of one year seven months in prison Friday in Marquette County Circuit Court.  He was credited with over 200 days served.

In September, he pleaded no contest to assault with intent to harm, less than murder.

Lehto was arrested in March after his firearm discharged after arguing with his 18-year-old son.
