FOREST COUNTY, WI — An Iron River man who led police on a chase across state lines was sentenced this week in Wisconsin.

Twenty–two year old Martin Cooper the third pleaded guilty to fleeing and eluding a police officer and an amended count of misdemeanor possession of THC in Forest County Circuit Court on Monday. Cooper’s sentence was withheld and he was given two years probation.

He will have to participate in an Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse treatment program as part of the probation. Cooper was arrested in December after a police chase that started in Crystal Falls Township and ended in Wisconsin.

He is also set to go to trial in Iron County this July.
