Man receives prison sentence in meth case

ESCANABA — An out of state man is off to prison after he was arrested at the scene of a meth lab last August.

James Davidson, 39, of Apopka, FL, was sentenced to 8 to 20 years in prison after pleading ‘no contest’ to operating and/or maintaining a meth lab back in January. Two other drug charges against Davidson were then dropped.

Davidson was one of four people arrested by Escanaba Public Safety after police discovered an active meth lab inside an apartment on the 1700 block of 3rd Avenue North. The meth lab was located directly across the street from Escanaba Public Safety.
