Man pleads no contest to child abuse
A 24–year–old Marquette man pled no contest to a child abuse charge after allegedly leaving his child alone while attending Ultimate Frisbee Practice.
David Halverson is facing one count of fourth degree child abuse.
Police say he left his two-year-old son unsupervised for an extended amount of time while he went to Frisbee practice in January. Neighbors say they saw Halverson’s son running around their apartment building barefoot and wearing only a diaper.
Halverson’s bond was revoked and he is now lodged in Marquette County Jail.
Sentencing is scheduled for April 17.
