Man jailed after driving while intoxicated, resisting arrest

ONTONAGON COUNTY — A Lake Linden man is in jail after allegedly resisting arrest after driving drunk in Ontonagon County early Friday morning.

Deputies from the Ontonagon County Sheriff’s Office say they were dispatched to a vehicle in a ditch on M-26 near M-38 around 6:30 a.m. Upon arrival, a deputy found 52-year-old Duv Randell Keeling intoxicated inside the vehicle. During the investigation, Keeling allegedly became uncooperative and was detained by the deputy and a passer-by who assisted. He was transported to Aspirus Ontonagon Hospital. Police say he had a blood alcohol content of 0.37 percent.

Keeling was treated and then transported to the Ontonagon County Jail, where he is lodged on charges of driving while intoxicated with a high BAC, malicious destruction of property, resisting and obstructing, and carrying a dangerous weapon — in this case, a knife — with unlawful intent.

Keeling’s bond was set at ten percent of $50,000.
