Man gets prision time on CSC charge

A Marquette man will spend up to 15 years in prison on criminal sexual conduct charges.

Axel Acevedo, 28, was sentenced to three years and four months to 15 years in jail in on a third degree CSC charge in Marquette County Circuit Court.  He was given credit for 363 days served and has to pay almost $200 in court fines and costs.

The investigation began last year when the Marquette Police learned that Acevedo was a sex offender who had not registered in the city.

Police notified people at the home where Acevedo had been staying about his offender status.  The mother of a twelve–year–old boy living in that home later brought her son to the police, saying the boy may have been assaulted.
