Man enters guilty plea on explosives charges

MARQUETTE — A Marquette man facing explosives charges has entered a guilty plea in Marquette County Circuit Court.

As part of a plea agreement, Christian Nutini, 28, pleaded guilty to one count of Possession of Explosives with Intent. That’s a ten year felony with fines up to $10,000. Two other charges were dismissed as part of the plea agreement. In addition, the prosecution agreed that any jail time would be served in the Marquette County Jail instead of with the Michigan Department of Corrections.

Nutini was arrested in November of 2014 for damaging a power conduit box at a waste–water pump near Presque Isle. He used M–80 style fire crackers made of flash powder.

Nutini will be sentenced March 4th.
