Man Charged in Fatal Snowmobile Wreck
A Houghton man will face criminal charges in a fatal snowmobile crash from last month.
26-year-old Christopher Puuri is charged with negligent operation of a snowmobile causing serious injury or death.
The accident happened on March 6th near the Range Snowmobile Club in Portage Township.
Puuri was driving a sled across a clearing near the club when he crashed into another sled at an angle.
21-year-old Amanda Briggs of Lake Linden was driving the other snowmobile.
She died at the scene.
Puuri is scheduled to have a preliminary exam on April 30th.
