Man barricades himself in home, threatens to shoot self
A man is in the hospital after threatening to shoot himself in Escanaba Monday afternoon.
The Escanaba Department of Public Safety says the incident happened around 4:10 p.m.
Police had received a call about a man who was going to shoot himself. The man also said he had several firearms inside the residence.
The man refused to let officers in his home and would not leave the residence.
After talking to the man by telephone, police were able to enter the residence and safely approach the man.
He was taken to St. Francis Hospital for treatment.
