The man arrested on multiple drug charges by the Marquette County Sheriff’s Office Wednesday morning has been arraigned in Marquette County District Court.
Twenty-six-year old Eric Dean Peterson of Champion and Marquette Township is charged with one felony count of possession of less than 25 grams of cocaine or heroin and one felony count of possession of a non-narcotic. He is also charged with a misdemeanor count of possession of marijuana. His bond was set at $25,000 cash for each of the felonies and ten percent of $10,000 for the marijuana charge.
Peterson is scheduled to appear for a preliminary exam on January 26th.
MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP — A Champion Township man is facing multiple drug related charges after he was arrested by the Marquette County Sheriff’s Office Wednesday morning.
Just after 9:00 a.m. Wednesday, police were dispatched to the area of Erickson and Badger Streets in Marquette Township. A concerned neighbor notified police of a suspicious person roaming the neighborhood.
When police made contact with a 26-year-old man, he did not provide the deputy consistent information as to why he was in the area. Further investigation by police found that the man was riding a stolen bicycle that he allegedly stole from a nearby residence. Police also found that the man was in possession of a small amount of marijuana, prescription drugs and cocaine.
The suspect was arrested and taken to the Marquette County Sheriff’s Office, where he provided police information about several break and entry crimes in the area. Police say they’ve been investigating break-ins in the Trowbridge Area of Marquette Township for several months.
The suspect is charged with possession of cocaine (felony), possession of marijuana (felony) and illegal possession of a prescription drug (felony). Property crimes charges attached to this case have yet to be determined.
