MARQUETTE —  Artists and wanna–be artists, the Marquette Arts and Culture Center is looking for you.

With their 15th annual Holiday Art show approaching, the call for artists closes September 4th. While experienced artists and former artists are always welcome back, MACC would love to see some aspiring artists apply.

“If you have never applied to an art show, never shown or sold your work maybe this is your time, your opportunity. We really encourage people that are new to apply, it is a great way to meet other artists, get your work out there and experience selling your work,” said Tiina Harris, Marquette Arts & Culture Center.

Applications to exhibit at the Holiday Art Sale can be picked up at the MACC office inside the lower level of the  Peter White Public Library, or can be found online. There is no set number of artists slots available so Tiina encourages every artist and wanna–be artist to apply.

“This will probably be the biggest ever, every year we keep expanding it. We invite all artists, all different mediums, we have textiles, woodworking, iron work, jewelry, photography, it’s very exciting, the only requirement is that you have made the item yourself, it can’t be a kit” continued Harris.

The application deadline is Friday, September 4th. The Holiday Art Sale will take place on November 21st. Click here to access the online application.  You can also call (906) 228-0472 for more information.
