The construction project on the M-553 bridge between Gwinn and the Crossroads area of Sands Township is about to move into high gear.
The bridge over the old Canadian National Railroad is undergoing a major overhaul.
Work is being done on its piers, its concrete beams and its joints.
The major project means a portion of the road will be closed.
Traffic will be directed along a detour through K.I. Sawyer on M-94 and Kelly Johnson Memorial Drive.
The project is expected to last until the end of July.
