UPDATE — 5:45 P.M. February 29, 2016 (EST)
Highway M-28 has been reopened to normal traffic.
CHOCOLAY TOWNSHIP — Winter weather has resulted in the closure of a major corridor in the central U.P.
Michigan State Police from the Negaunee Post say M-28 between Munising and Kawbawgam Road in Chocolay Township will be closed beginning at 10:30 a.m. today. Police cite white-out conditions along Lake Superior as the reason for the closure. Travelers can use M-94 between Munising and Skandia Township as an alternate route.
