LSCP annual golf outing
The weather wasn’t necessarily ideal, but it wasn’t a terrible day to hit the links today in Marquette County, either.
The Lake Superior Community Partnership held its 14th annual golf scramble at Greywalls in Marquette.
There was fun and fundraising; the outing raises money to help the LSCP continue its mission of economic and community development in Marquette County.
“This is probably one of our better years, at 100 golfers,” LSCP Chairman of the Board Dennis Smith said. “We have a putting contest that anybody can enter, and then there’s going to be a random draw for one individual to try to get a hole in one, and then it ends up probably by 5 (p.m.) with the awards ceremony and gifts and prizes and things like that. It’s a great time to meet people that you may not always see, get a chance to talk to them, find out what they’re doing, if there’s perhaps business opportunities that you can come up with or some sort of collaboration. So, these things really kind of spawn off a lot of things that go on around the county and, I think, as far as business development.”
The winner of the putting contest takes home $10,000, and a million dollars are on the line for making a hole in one.
