Longyear exhibit on display in Marquette

A special exhibit on display at the Marquette Regional History Center focuses on a man who was vital to the area: John M. Longyear.  The tribute is called “The Longyear Legacy.”

Longyear, in addition to being involved in the mining and lumber industries, was an avid photographer, world traveler and successful land–looker.

The museum staff came up with the idea for the special exhibit and they each have their own special piece.

The exhibit will be on display until December 28.  The museum is open Monday through Saturday, closed on Sundays.  Prices for admission range from $2.00 – $7.00.
