MARQUETTE — The D.J. Jacobetti Home for Veterans recently a donation of just under $4,000.

The American Legion Post #349 in Little Lake through the Warrior Relief Fund donated the funds for a blanket warmer for the home. One of the directors for the Warrior Relief Fund, Richard Wood says that it will help reduce illness and improve the overall quality of life for these veterans.

“We need to take care of our vets,” said Warrior Relief Fund Co–Director Richard Wood, “we need to take care of our active duty, our reserves, and our guardsmen. There are times when the military and the VA can’t immediately help them. That’s what we’re here for.”

The Warrior Relief Fund was created about six years ago by some returning veterans that felt that there was a need for immediate help.

Funding for the thirty eight hundred dollar blanket warmer comes from their annual golf outing. This year’s golf outing takes place on August 20th.
