NEGAUNEE — Valentine’s day is just around the corner, and if you’re looking for a cute date idea, The Peninsula Arts and Appreciation Council has just the thing.
This weekend, PAAC is putting on a Valentine’s Cabaret. There will be song and dance as well as desserts provided by area bakeries including Joe’s Cakes and Gopher’s. Thursday night was the first performance for the cast.
“We took a bunch of songs from a bunch of different musicals, all themed around love and we mashed them together, made up dances, put together some choreography. We have a lot of really, really talented people in this cast and it was a lot of fun to put it together,” said Eliisa Gladwell, who directed the cabaret.
“Everyone in the cabaret is just really good friends. They know each other and it’s fun singing with each other. We dance and there’s laughing,” added Jillian Sollid, who is singing in the cabaret.
There will be two performances on Saturday and one more on Sunday. Tickets are $15 or $25 for couples. And if that deal didn’t sound sweet enough, two dollars from single tickets and four dollars from couple tickets will be donated to the Women’s Center in Marquette.
