Local library lends a hand the technologically illiterate

MARQUETTE — With Christmas over, many of us may have some new toys and gadgets to play with.

If you’re not really sure how to use those toys, don’t worry, there’s help. The Peter White Public Library has just restarted it’s Tech Topics class for the year. The class meets in the Computer Lab at the library to talk about useful skills, like using iPads and iPhones and how to get pictures uploaded to Facebook.

“We spend a significant portion of our time here at the reference desk at the Peter White Public Library helping people use the devices that we have. We have people who come in every day that have never used any kind of technology before, so, I always tell them it’s never too late to start,” said Jeremy Morelock, who instructs the class.

The class meets ever first and third Tuesday of the month. Here are the topics for the next few classes:

  • January 12 & 26 – iPad for Everyone
  • February 9 & 23 – Photos to Facebook
  • March 8 & 22 – Learn a Language
