Local judge honored with new portrait

MARQUETTE — A commemorating ceremony was held for former United States District Judge Honorable Noel P. Fox.

Fox was appointed by President Kennedy in 1962 and served as a district judge for the federal bench for almost twenty five years before passing away in nineteen eighty seven. The ceremony paid tribute to the life of Fox with stories of his life and career as a judge.

A portrait of Fox was unveiled and will join the other portraits in the Marquette County District Courtroom. Judge Fox’s friends and colleagues spoke of him as a kind and compassionate man that lived to serve justice.
