Local gym celebrates its grand opening
NEGAUNEE — A gym that was once in Ishpeming has now relocated just down the road in Negaunee.
Xcellerated Fitness celebrated its Grand Opening Wednesday afternoon. Josh Drew owns the gym located on US–41. His dream was to always own and run a gym. He’s very happy to have Xcellerated Fitness open for business here in the U.P. Drew says that moving the gym to Negaunee is part of his master plan.
“Opening this facility functions more as a semi private training studio. It enables people with different types of limitations or issues to come and feel comfortable and confident to come and train in a facility with the proper education and the proper equipment,” said Drew. “The space is specifically designed for people to come in here and do specific type training. They come in, everyone is on a plan, everyone follows some type of prescription, whether it is through their physical therapist or their doctor and then I help them execute that plan.”
Drew added that his friends and family have been a big part of turning his dream into a reality.
Xcellerated Fitness is a 24 hour facility.
