Local eatery wins honors for mac and cheese
MARQUETTE — Winter is coming and with it comes all your favorite comfort foods.
One local eatery does comfort food so well, they won an award for it! Doncker’s mac and cheese in Marquette was voted the best in the state of Michigan. The prize is part of an MLive.com contest that included over forty contestants all over the state.
“We were running up against places downstate that were a little more well known, a little more popular, a lot more traffic. So being in Marquette, the largest city in the U.P. but at the same time still tucked away in the U.P., it’s great to be able to take that first place,” said Rain Johnson, Marketing Coordinator for Doncker’s, “We know we love our mac and cheese, and people tell us how much they love our mac and cheese, but it feels really great to get that first place nomination.”
Besides their classic mac and cheese, Doncker’s also makes bacon sriracha, veggie and broccoli mac and cheese.
