WILSON — One local corn maze is honoring law enforcement this Halloween by having a special message in the maze.

The Getzloff family has been running the Getzloff Farm Corn Maze every year for the past five years. Each year, a new theme is created and placed in the middle of the maze.

With recent stories being shown across media outlets regarding the treatment of police officers, the Getzloff family wanted to show their support for backing up our blue.

“We went with back our blue this year because there is so much in the news with all the negativity and we thought, what a positive way to support the community. Law enforcement does so much for us on a daily basis that I don’t think we even realize it, we’re just lucky to live in a place where we live,” said Getzloff Farm, Co–owner Darcy Getzloff.

Creating this message in the seven acre corn maze only took the Getzloffs a couple of days. The process included a lot of counting of corn rows and then stepping on the desired corn pieces. This corn maze is not the only fun fall activity to participate in when at the Getzloff Farm.

“We have hay rides, it goes back in the woods and takes about 20 minutes. The ride to the pumpkin patch is a little bit quicker but it depends on how long it takes you to pick out a pumpkin. We have a super slide, corn sandbox, farm animals, concessions, hay piles to climb on. So you can plan on spending a morning or afternoon here and not run out of things to do,” said Getzloff.

The Getzloff Farm is open from Friday to Sunday each week and is open until dark.
