Local brewery celebrates 4th annual ‘Hops for Hope’

MARQUETTE — A local brewery kicked off their fourth annual Hops for Hope Campaign.

Ore Dock Brewing Company collaborates with local restaurants and bars to donate from every pint sold to Feeding America.

Owner and Co–founder, Andrea Pernsteiner said,” Hops for Hope this year is Glad Tidings. It is an English IPA. So IPA is a pretty common type of beer for craft beer drinkers. It is a very nice, malty IPA with a nice hot bitterness to it. So hopefully very approachable to most beer drinkers.”

It is estimated that every pint sold will provide two meals to someone in need.

“With all of the global and national events that have been occurring it really draws our attention away from a lot of the local people that need our help as well. So it is important I think for all of us to remember that there is a lot of people within our community that need help. This is one way to do that, we hope it provides an easy avenue for people.”

The campaign runs through Sunday. Bars in Calumet, Ishpeming, Negaunee, Gwinn, and Marquette are all participating. So while you are out this weekend with friends and family stop in and help donate to the campaign.
