MARQUETTE — If you’re sad about the cancellation of Rail Jam this weekend in Marquette, there’s another opportunity for you to see some high flying fun.

This Saturday, Peak Fitness in Marquette Township will be hosting the Negaunee, Marquette and Escanaba Gymnastics teams for a competition. The meet is extra exciting because of Peak’s state of the art facility, including foam pits and spring floors.

“Gymnasts have a better feel for what their body is doing and what they do with their body, their entire body, than any other sport,” said Negaunee Coach Kevin Koch.

“Our team has been undefeated with five meets so far and we have two left,” added Team Captain Hope Rosten, “It’s a lot of fun and it gets you in shape in a lot of different ways. You have a bunch of different things to try.”

Negaunee is also headed to the regional competition later in the season, which hasn’t happened in around ten years. If you’d like to see the girls in action, the meet starts at 1:00 p.m. Saturday at Peak Fitness.
