Lions wide receiver suffers arm injury

Detroit Lions wide receiver Nate Burleson will miss an extended period of time after breaking his left forearm in a one car accident Tuesday morning.

According to the Michigan State Police, Burleson was driving on Interstate 696 in Farmington Hills at 2:25 a.m., when he lost control of his GMC Yukon. Burleson was distracted by two pizzas that were falling off the front passenger seat.

Police say that alcohol was not a factor in the crash. Lions head coach Jim Schwartz said in a press conference this afternoon that Burleson would not be placed on the injured reserve list, which would end his season.

Burleson leads the Lions this season in the receiving department, with 19 catches for 239 yards.
